Water Consciousness

Water has tremendous benefits and it’s one of the most mysterious substances known to man. Water is the only substance, which exists in three physical states, which are liquid, gas and solid. The list of unusual water behavior is unlimited. Water is essential to life, the most precious resource on the planet, and provides a unique experience for healing and well-being. Water was used for centuries in many cultures for healing, as well as in religious and cultural practices. Still water remains to be a great mystery. Unfortunately our mechanic way of perceiving things prevents us from being more open-minded to a holistic perspective, such as how it relates to our health, spirituality, ecology, and life creation.

Water symbolizes regeneration, fertility, purification, and transformation. In every mental scheme or proposition exists simultaneously “an above and below,” known as The Hermetic Principle of Correspondence: As above, so below; as below, so above. As within, so without; as without, so within. In metaphysics, water represents the flow of the collective unconscious and teaches that our reality is dynamic and ever changing. As Heraclitus said, “you cannot step into the same river twice, for other waters are continually flowing on.” Waters also symbolize unexpressed possibilities in the unconscious mind.

Here are some water practices for well-being and healing you can explore:

    • Whisper positive affirmations (statements) into your glass of water or cup of tea. Read about Dr. Emoto’s experiment. You are drinking those molecules of water charged with positive vibrations of your words. Write or paste positive words such as “Joy”, “Peace”, and “Bliss” on your water container.

    • According to Ayurveda, drinking from a copper vessel positively charges the water.

    • Send healing/loving energy (intention) to your water and then drink it.

    • Swirl your water to create a vortex which will increase the vibration of the water you drink.

    • If you never tried before, discover a neti pot, salt-water nasal rinse – it enhances breathing!

    • Hot-Cold plunges increase circulation, speed healing and boost the immune system.

    • Watsu is a form of aquatic therapy or aquatic bodywork. Used for deep relaxation.

    • Get your steam on in Sauna. Steaming results in deep cleansing of the body, especially by using salts.

    • Add a slice of lemon, mint, or ginger to your morning drinking water to stimulate the “dynamics” of your organism.

    • Give a hug to yourself or another person. The studies report that 20 second hug result in release of oxytocin (the love hormone) and enhance health.

    • Swimming or taking a dip in the water alleviates depression, relieves stress and improves overall physical and mental state.

    • Wash away your pain: Take a shower or bath and set an intention that water cleanses and dissolves all your pain, tension, anxiety and other ailments.

    • Tension, anger, pain are emotions that associate with fire element this is why water brings healing.

    • Talk to your body. Thoughts and words have a powerful effect on our physical body and can change internal processes. Known as a miracle healing or in medical terms as a spontaneous remission is a dynamic process which is contingent on a person’s conscious beliefs. As Henry Ford stated “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are right.” Your physical body is a temple of unconscious processes and takes literally every word you speak. Unconscious has no sense of humor. So, your “ugly” words about self-image will be translated accordingly.

“Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.” ~ Bruce Lee
